MPACT Scores 2nd Place at San Jose Grand Prix US Touring Car Championship website	08/03/05- We would like to congratulate the MPACT Motorsports for scoring a second place finish in their BMW 328is at the US Touring Car race at the San Jose Grand Prix. In front of 55,000 fans attending the inaugural CHAMPCAR street race in downtown San Jose, Dale Sievwright drove to his best finish of the season. On this new street course, Dale was second fastest in practice and was able to put the BMW on the inside of the second row after qualifying. At the start of the race the rear-drive BMW had a great launch and Dale was able to hold on to third place down the long front straight. Sievwright's speed on cold tires and the phenomenal braking performance from the Stoptech brakes allowed him to make a clean pass on Erickson's GTI for second position. The MPACT 328 then began closing the gap to Dave Brown's Spoon/Opak JDM RSX but was unable to get close enough to make a pass for the win. On the heel of this result, we look forward to more podium finishes for the MPACT team. The next race for the MPACT Motorsports Team will be at the US Touring Car Race at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA on August 6-7.

Happy April Fool's Day!	04/01/04- Unfortunately, we're not really going to get rides in the Audi R8! Did anyone actually believe Audi would bring their Le Mans winning R8 race car out to the June 25th Thunderhill event?? Wish it were true...but our humble connections in the motorsport cicle aren't going to be able to pull off something this exciting! However, we expect a good sized turnout of VW and Audi enthusiasts together with regular UnlimitedLaps track junkies. So you won't get to ride in an R8 race car but it should a still be a fun and exciting event. If you haven't registered for this event, do so soon to avoid disappointment. Audi R8 to make guest appearance at June 25 Thunderhill event	04/01/04- UnlimitedLaps is pleased to announce the guest appearance of the 3-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner Audi R8 race car at the June 25th Thunderhill event. We are very excited and honored by the prospect of having such a celebrated motorsport icon in attendance at our event. Driving the Audi R8 will be multiple Le Mans winners Fred Biera and Imanuele Pillo. As we expect a large turnout of VW and Audi enthusiasts at this event, this will surely be a real treat for everyone in attendance. Fred and Imanuele will be doing demonstration laps around the 3.0 mile 15-turn Thunderhill Park and will be offering rides to all attendees. Both drivers have also kindly agreed to an autograph signing session at lunch time. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to take a ride in a REAL racecar. Club Day hosted by UnlimitedLaps, Tomas Sport Tuning and NorCal VW	03/15/04- We are pleased to announce a club day hosted by UnlimitedLaps in conjunction with Tomas Sport Tuning and NorCal VW. This event is scheduled for June 25, 2004 and will take place at Thunderhill Park in Willows, the increasingly popular Northern California motorsports venue. This is an opportunity for customers of Tomas Sport Tuning, as well as members of NorCal VW to put their cars and driving skills to the test at Thunderhill's 3.0 mile road course. Customers of Tomas Sport Tuning and members of NorCal VW qualify for a special entry price of only $185 if they register and send in their payments by the June 4th 2004 deadline. Domenico Merlino scores top podium finish Domenic's website: Merlino Racing	08/07/03- Domenico Merlino scored an impressive 1st place finish on Sunday in the USAC Formula Russell series race weekend held at Infineon Raceway on July 19 & 20. Domenic qualified second on the grid, his tenacious and consistent driving saw him close the gap on the race leader mid way through the race and he eventually captured first place despite a stubborn shifter and less than ideal track conditions. It was a tough race mentally and physically, which made the victory that much sweeter! You can view Domenic's latest racing results on this website. UnlimitedLaps Instructor Spotlight Tony's website: TC Design	07/23/03- Tony Colicchio started racing in 2000 in the Russell Racing ARC and Graduate runoffs. In the 2001 Russell series, Tony earned two second place and a third place finish in eight races. Tony did several tests with ALMS teams during the 2001 season, ultimately running with The Racer's Group in the Laguna Seca round of the ALMS Championship in a Porsche 911 GT3R and finished an impressive second out of the non-factory teams in his first pro race. Tony also runs a racecar fabrication shop that he started in 2002. TC Design specializes in rollcages and suspension design. When he is not tuning racecar suspension, Tony enjoys instructing at UnlimitedLaps, Tracquest, Audiclub, and NCRC. He is also available for private instruction. UnlimitedLaps Instructor Spotlight Domenic's website: Merlino Racing	06/02/03- Meet Domenico Merlino, an introspective young man who is the type of racer who thrives on achieving the precise balance between car control and absolute speed. Domenic began his racing career in S.C.C.A. autocrossing and today, he drives Formula Russell open wheel racers and competes in the USAC Jim Russell Championship Series. Domenic's smooth and consistent driving style has earned him many impressive finishes. He finished 1st in class during the August 12, 2000 Russell Championship Series race at the former Sears Point International Raceway. When he is not racing, Domenic gives back to the community by instructing for UnlimitedLaps events and the Thunderhill S.C.C.A. Street School. Greg started out autocrossing and before long, earned his SCCA competition license to compete in ITA. When not racing, Greg can be seen instructing at Thunderhill's Street School as well as UnlimitedLaps events. UnlimitedLaps was at the SCCA season opener at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma California on April 5 & 6 to lend support to Greg and his wonderful crew. While most people are familiar with Thunderhill's 3.0 mile configuration in the counter-clockwise direction, many don't know you can drive this fantastic track in reverse. Our next event on June 20th lets you do just that. Drive Thunderhill in the clockwise direction for a new perspective on the track for only $195 lunch included. Sunny skies over Thunderhill Park	04/20/03- Unlike the Buttonwillow event in March, we had the biggest turnout yet at Thunderhill. It was a beautiful spring day, a little cool but lots of sun. Small turnout but the rain never came	03/17/03- Instead of rain, we had plenty of sunshine as well as plenty of track time due to the small turnout. Thanks to everyone for being well behaved, which made for another fun and safe UnlimitedLaps event. We hope to be back at Buttonwillow Raceway in the not too distant future.
